Jul 2006 - CLASSES in a new self-defence craze are to be set up in the Capital.
From October, a regular class for devotees of Krav Maga, a martial art practised by Israeli soldiers, will be held at The Royal Commonwealth Pool.
The sessions have been set up by Krav Maga Scotland, based in Glasgow, after one-off workshops held last year proved popular with self-defence enthusiasts in Edinburgh.
The martial art is the latest craze around the world and was famously used to train Israeli soldiers ahead of their Six Day War victory over Egypt in 1967.
The first of the monthly classes will take place on October 7.
